The Saudi National Day of 2024 wasn’t ordinary, as the Saudi Cycling Federation organized numerous events and celebrations, sponsored by Wheels Foundation, for adventure seekers and cycling enthusiasts, making this occasion a memorable one. The National Day activities varied, featuring thrilling mountain bike races amidst the stunning nature of the Kingdom’s cities, as well as cycling parades in major cities like Riyadh.
The celebrations were not just about adventure and excitement; they embodied the National Day slogan “We Dream and Achieve.” The events included amateurs, adventurers, families, and even children, allowing everyone to celebrate a unique Saudi National Day. Wheels also provided prizes to instill a spirit of competition and adventure among the riders.
To complete the celebration of this special day for the Kingdom, Wheels offered National Day promotions, providing the strongest discounts of the season to encourage people to celebrate by riding bikes at competitive and affordable prices.
Bike Parades in Saudi Cities
Of the 46 cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, these cities had the chance to celebrate Saudi National Day with Wheels. With a vibrant atmosphere full of patriotism, Wheels aimed to provide the best care for this great event, Enhance joy and happiness in the hearts of all participants. From paving the way and providing all means for cycling to offering various ways to celebrate, they made it an unparalleled memory for the riders. The celebrations were in:
1- Riyadh City "Capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia"
From the capital of the Kingdom and the largest city, “Riyadh,” specifically from the upscale Al-Ghadeer neighborhood, the cyclists set off to celebrate Saudi National Day in an atmosphere filled with adventure and love for the homeland, continuing for up to 10 kilometers within the city, making the National Day celebration special.
2- Al Khobar City "The Second Most Beautiful Arab City"
In the second most beautiful Arab city, “Al Khobar,” alongside its attractive beaches, the cycling adventurers set off amidst the stunning nature to celebrate National Day, starting specifically from the Al Khobar Corniche and continuing for up to 15 km within the city. This was a commemoration filled with love and belonging to the homeland.
3- Jeddah City "Bride of The Red Sea"
Unlike other parades, at 7 am, the spirit of competition pulsated from the heart of the Red Sea bride, “Jeddah,” during a mountain biking race celebrating Saudi National Day. The celebration was divided as follows:
- Slow Bike Race
This race is entirely based on balance rather than speed. It was organized with 3 winning positions for those who could reach the finish line without touching their leg to the ground.
- Bike Race
In this race, the number of laps and duration were specified with 3 winning positions for each category, including:
- Men’s full suspension mountain (3 laps, 8-9 minutes)
- Men’s hardtail (5 laps, 13-15 minutes)
- Women’s MTB (3 laps, 8-9 minutes)
The goal of this race was to complete the specified number of laps and reach the finish line within the allotted time.
- Bike Show
This show was optional for participants, showcasing the features and characteristics of the bikes in a more attractive manner.
- Awarding Ceremony
At the end of the race, awards were distributed to the winners amid an atmosphere filled with love and joy.
4- Al Jubail City "The World Station for Oil"
The bike parades completed their celebration in the vibrant city of Jubail in the Kingdom, filled with enchanting natural scenery. The cyclists set off from the Roman Theater in the city, enjoying the joy and celebration atmosphere, continuing for up to 6 km within the city.
5- Dammam City
In Dammam, the celebration was different, as not only the sponsorship was provided by Wheels Foundation, but also the organization. The cyclists started their parade from the distinctive Dammam Corniche and continued for up to 8 km within the city.
